My Thoughts...
Roseblood is the first book I've read by author A.G. Howard, though I've had her Splintered series on my TBR for way too long. I was super excited when a copy of Roseblood showed up on my doorstep one afternoon, and I absolutely couldn't wait to get started on the story. That cover, it's almost too gorgeous to resist! I'm thrilled to have finally read something by A.G. Howard.

The storyline for the book is based around The Phantom of the Opera, which I ashamedly know next to nothing about. (When I say next to nothing, I seriously mean next to nothing. Sigh.) This book definitely left me curious to know more about the original though, and one day I'll have to make sure to check it out. While the book is a modern retelling, it also has an interesting paranormal twist to it that I really didn't expect, but found rather interesting. I also liked that this was a standalone novel, and everything wrapped up rather nicely in the end.

There are a lot of fascinating characters in the story, including the two main characters, Rune and Thorne, who both have had great sadness in their pasts. I was curious to discover how the bond between them came about, and why it was already so strong when they finally meet in person. It's a pretty interesting story! There were a lot of great secondary characters in the story as well, some I wish we could have read more about, like all of Rune's friends, for instance. They were seriously the best!

Overall; Roseblood was definitely an interesting story! And now that I've finally reading something by Howard, I'm totally curious to read more! I'm hoping to start the Splintered series, hopefully soon. Check these books out for yourself!

My Week in Review • Week 3

Three weeks in, and I'm already behind on my review post. Haha!
Better late than never though, right?? Here's what I've been up to this week!!

I finished reading Roseblood this week, which was really interesting, and I'm hoping to have my review for that up this coming week. I also listened to the audiobook for Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, which is narrated by Alan Cumming, who I love, and while the book wasn't at all what I expected, I really enjoyed it anyways. I'm looking forward to continuing the series!



I'm currently reading Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty, and I'm really getting into it.
I can't wait for the tv series to release next month!!



The next two books I'm planning to read are Caraval by Stephanie Garber, and The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles. I'm pretty excited to start them both!



I actually didn't have much time to watch tv this week, but I did manage to squeeze in one movie, which I watched with the lovely Kathy from A Glass of Wine. I wasn't sure if I had watched Adventures in Babysitting before, but I hadn't, and I REALLY enjoyed it!

Hopefully this week I can get caught up on my tv shows as well.

This week has been busy, and I feel like I've gotten behind on everything. Sigh.
I need to work on getting caught up this week, for sure.

Did any of you participate or watch the Women's Marches yesterday?
They were AMAZING! I wish I could have gone, but I was totally there in spirit.
And I'm SO proud of what was accomplished.

Ah, does this book sound awesome, or what?
It definitely sounds like a book that I would be most interested in,
especially considering it's a contemporary. My fave genre!
And, that cover is super cool as well.

My Week in Review • Week 2

I had a really great time making the post last week, so I am going to try to keep it up.

Moving on... Here is my week in review!

I finally finished reading Wayfarer, which was awesome, and posted my thoughts for the book on my blog! I also finished the audiobook for Ten Thousand Skies Above You, and now I'm ready to move on to A Million Worlds With You, which I'm excited and completely anxious for.


I'm still currently reading Roseblood, but I'm hoping to finish it up this weekend.

The Teen 2 and I finally got caught up on This Is Us, and were able to watch the newest episode this week like everyone else. I can't begin to tell you how much I love this show. I knew everyone else did, but I didn't expect to love it so much myself!

We also started watching A Series of Unfortunate Events, which I have been SO EXCITED to see. I read the series last month, and it was so quirky and different, I really enjoyed it. We watched the first four episodes, and I really liked it. I was really curious to see how close the show would stick to the books, and it did for the most part, only with a few curious changes!

I also watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower with my book club girls, and that was so much fun! I had read the book a while back, but had not yet seen the movie. I actually enjoyed the book more than the movie, which almost never happens, but it was great.

This week has been super busy, I haven't had a chance to do too much. My daughter had three basketball games to cheer for this week, and that has completely worn me out. You'd think I'd get more reading accomplished sitting for 5 hours a day in a loud gym. But no. Haha!

Hopefully I can get a little more caught up next week. :)

My Thoughts...
Wayfarer is the second and final book in the Passenger duology by Alexandra Bracken. I read Passenger last year, and I really, really enjoyed the story. I couldn't wait to start Wayfarer to get back into the fascinating world that Bracken had created for us. This series has everything; time travel, pirates, and lots of super intense action and suspense. If you haven't yet done so, I highly recommend you check it out!!

There are SO many characters that I love in this series. Etta and Nicholas are both really great main characters, and I really enjoyed both of their narratives throughout the story. Sophia turns out to be pretty awesome also, once you get to know her and understand her better. There are a few more characters in the series that really surprised me as well, some we met in the previous book, and a few that we just meet in the new book. They were all interesting, and really well written! I'm not going to go into details, as I'd rather you read the book and meet them for yourself!

After the cliff-hanger ending in Passenger, I was really excited to dive back into the story to see what's going to happen next. The story definitely did not disappoint. I was completely engrossed as I flew through the pages much  faster than I expected to, which was no easy feat considering that this book is a whopping 532 pages! The ending though is what really got me, and I finished the book with a huge, satisfied smile on my face. Seriously, it was perfection.

Overall; Wayfarer was the excellent sequel and conclusion to the Passenger series! I really hate to see the series end, as I really enjoy the story and characters so much, and I'd love to read even more books by them. But, I still have the Darkest Minds series by Bracken to read, I'm hoping to get to those soon!
