Happy Monday, Bookworms!!
Are there any December releases that you're super excited for?? It's not going to be a huge month for new books, but there are quite a few that I'm really excited for! A few of these I have already preordered, and the others I have on hold at the library, and I'm super excited to read them all. :)
Here are a few I'm looking forward to!
After battling the
impossible, Zélie and Amari have finally succeeded in bringing magic
back to the land of Orïsha. But the ritual was more powerful than they
could’ve imagined, reigniting the powers of not only the maji, but of
nobles with magic ancestry, too.
Now, Zélie struggles to unite
the maji in an Orïsha where the enemy is just as powerful as they are.
But when the monarchy and military unite to keep control of Orïsha,
Zélie must fight to secure Amari's right to the throne and protect the
new maji from the monarchy's wrath.
With civil war looming on the
horizon, Zélie finds herself at a breaking point: she must discover a
way to bring the kingdom together or watch as Orïsha tears itself apart.
Children of Virtue and Vengeance is the stunning sequel to Tomi Adeyemi's New York Times bestselling debut Children of Blood and Bone, the first title in her Legacy of Orïsha trilogy.
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice
and Virtue meets Jane Austen in this witty, winking historical romance with a dash of mystery!
Lady
Victoria Aston has everything she could want: an older sister happily
wed, the future of her family estate secure, and ample opportunity to
while her time away in the fields around her home.
But now Vicky
must marry—or find herself and her family destitute. Armed only with the
wisdom she has gained from her beloved novels by Jane Austen, she
enters society’s treacherous season.
Sadly, Miss Austen has little to say about Vicky’s exact
circumstances: whether the roguish Mr. Carmichael is indeed a
scoundrel, if her former best friend, Tom Sherborne, is out for her
dowry or for her heart, or even how to fend off the attentions of the
foppish Mr. Silby, he of the unfortunate fashion sensibility.
Most
unfortunately of all, Vicky’s books are silent on the topic of the
mysterious accidents cropping up around her…ones that could prevent her
from surviving until her wedding day.
Maxwell has finally met an opponent that he can't best in this new football romance from the author of Fumbled.
According
to Brynn Larson, Maxwell Lewis is more trouble than he's worth. She
doesn't care if he's a football god with a rock-hard body that brings
most women to their knees. After an encounter that ends poorly, she's
not interested in giving him a second chance. The last thing Brynn
expects is for him to turn up at her bar months later, hat in hand. It
doesn't matter if he brings more customers to her business--she's still
not going on a date with him.
Maxwell knows he made a mistake.
He'd been waiting to make his move on Brynn since the day he laid eyes
on her and he was finally ready to go for it until he screwed up. He
wishes he could tell her the truth about what happened that night, but
he just can't. He can't tell anyone, so he'll make amends and hope
she'll forgive him.
Brynn's not like other women, though. Playing
for the Mustangs doesn't impress her and gifts make her scoff. Max will
have to bring his A game if he hopes to win her over.
In this charming,
feel-good debut novel, a cynical assistant at a screenwriting agency
must reenact the meet-cute scenes from classic romantic comedy movies in
order to help her #1 client get his scriptwriting mojo back--but can a
real-life meet-cute be in store for someone who doesn't believe in
happily ever after?
After seven years as an assistant,
29-year-old Evie Summers is ready to finally get the promotion she
deserves. But now the TV and film agency she's been running behind the
scenes is in trouble, and Evie will lose her job unless she can convince
the agency's biggest and most arrogant client, Ezra Chester, to finish
writing the script for a Hollywood romantic comedy.
The catch?
Ezra is suffering from writer's block--and he'll only put pen to paper
if singleton Evie can prove to him that you can fall in love like they
do in the movies. With the future of the agency in jeopardy, Evie
embarks on a mission to meet a man the way Sally met Harry or Hugh Grant
met Julia Roberts.
But in the course of testing out the
meet-cute scenes from classic romantic comedies IRL, not only will Evie
encounter one humiliating situation after another, but she'll have to
confront the romantic past that soured her on love. In a novel as
hilarious as it is heartwarming, debut author Rachel Winters proves that
sometimes real life is better than the movies--and that the best kind
of meet-cutes happen when you least expect them.
Sometimes love is unpredictable…
Twenty-nine-year-old
Charlotte Rosen has a secret: she’s a widow. Ever since the fateful day
that leveled her world, Charlotte has worked hard to move forward.
Great job at a hot social media analytics company? Check. Roommate with
no knowledge of her past? Check. Adorable dog? Check. All the while,
she’s faithfully data-crunched her way through life, calculating the
probability of risk—so she can avoid it.
Yet Charlotte’s
algorithms could never have predicted that her late husband’s ashes
would land squarely on her doorstep five years later. Stunned but
determined, Charlotte sets out to find meaning in this sudden twist of
fate, even if that includes facing her perfectly coiffed, and perfectly
difficult, ex-mother-in-law—and her husband’s best friend, who seems to
become a fixture at her side whether she likes it or not.
But
soon a shocking secret surfaces, forcing Charlotte to answer questions
she never knew to ask and to consider the possibility of forgiveness.
And when a chance at new love arises, she’ll have to decide once and for
all whether to follow the numbers or trust her heart.

Cassie
Everson is an expert at escaping bad first dates. And, after years of

No
one is more surprised than Cassie when her first date with Jett is a
knockout. But when they both go home and find three children dropped in
their laps—each—they independently decide to do the right and
mature thing: hide the kids from each other while sorting it all out.
What could go wrong?
Melissa Ferguson’s hilarious and warmhearted
debut reminds us that love can come in very small packages—and that
sometimes our best-laid plans aren’t nearly as rewarding and fun as the
surprises that come our way.
by Virginia Kantra
The timeless classic Little Women inspired this heartwarming modern tale of four sisters from New York Times bestselling author Virginia Kantra.

adorable toddlers, the house in a charming subdivision. But sometimes
getting everything you've ever wanted isn't all it's cracked up to be.
When their mother's illness forces the sisters home to North Carolina for the holidays, they'll rediscover what really matters.
One
thing's for sure--they'll need the strength of family and the power of
sisterhood to remake their lives and reimagine their dreams.
