Top Ten Tuesday: Books I'd Recommend To...

November 19:
Top Ten Books I'd Recommend To X Person

I'm choosing
Top Ten Books I'd recommend to New Young Adult Readers!

1. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones --  This is one of the series that first got me hooked to YA books! It's a great series, and is always one of the first that I recommend to someone who wants to get into YA!

2. The Hunger Games -- This is another great series that I got me hooked when I first started reading. Actually, I recommend this series to just about anyone, because it is so amazingly awesome.

3. Divergent --  So, yeah... I'm a bit new to the Divergent bandwagon. I just recently started this series this year, but I really enjoyed it. It has now become one of my newest recommendations!

4. Shatter Me -- I really don't have to say much about this series. It is amazing, and I know that it's gotten a lot of people hooked on YA books. SO GOOD!

5. Anna and the French Kiss -- I think this book was one of the first YA contemporaries that I really loved, and of course, I recommend this and Lola to just about anyone!

6. Along for the Ride -- Sarah Dessen is another amazing author of YA Comtemporaries that first got me started on reading. I love her books, and I know a lot of young girls will love them as well, so they are always on my list to recommend!

7. The Unbecoming of Myra Dyer -- I recommend this book to a lot of people that want to start reading YA books. It's such an insanely creepy and mysterious read. Perfect to get people hooked!

8. The Immortal Rules -- I know a lot of people that got started reading YA books by reading the Twilight books, and they never really stray from there. I love recommending The Immortal Rules series to anyone that likes Vampire books!

9. Starcrossed -- This is another great series that I always recommend to people who are starting YA. It's a great Greek mythology based series, and it's Oh-So intriguing!

10. The Fault in Our Stars -- This book is yet another book that I started early this year. (Late to jump on that bandwagon, yet again.) This book is SO good, and makes you feel SO much. Of course it's no one of my recommended YA reads!

So there you go! My Top Ten Books to recommend to New YA Readers!

I can't wait to see what is on everyone else's list!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!

I really thought about putting The Immortal Rules on but I chose not to for some weird reason. I really like why you chose it!

    Great list :)

  2. These are all such great choices! The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is one of the CRAZIEST things I've ever read but I loved it! Have you read any Deb Caletti? I like Sarah Dessen, but I LOVE Deb Caletti and she writes similar..things? Sorry I've had a glass of wine and my brain is getting sleepy haha

  3. Heehee Divergent was one that was going to make my list, until I read Allegiant - now I couldn't subject anyone else to that awful series ender, especially not someone I love. You've picked some really great books, some I've read myself and some I still really want to read. Shatter Me is one that I still need to read, have heard great things. My TTT.

    1. I agree about Divergent and Allegiant, and I almost didn't add it to my list. But, the first book is so good, I would hate for someone to miss out on it just because of Allegiant. You know? So maybe I can recommend the first book, and they can move ahead if they want to. LOL!

  6. Anna and the French Kiss and Along for the Ride were two of the first books I read when I started on my YA journey of epic proportions. Great call on those two.

  9. Oh, nice list! I think that works as a great intro to some of the most popular (recent) books in the genre - especially the HG series, Divergent, and Sarah Dessen.

Thanks for visiting my TTT post today!

  10. Love the spin you put on the topic, Christy! I also would recommend most if not all of these to "new" YA readers so they see some of the best of what YA has to offer! :D

  12. The only one I don't agree with is Starcrossed. But that's because I don't get on very well with that series.

  13. Great list!! I totally would recommend Anna, Mara Dyer, and any Sarah Dessen to new YA-ers too! And TFIOS is perfect for ppl who think YA is just for kids. I still need to read Hunger Games. Everyone says it's one of those books that hook you as soon as you start reading it... I just need to do it already!

Thanks for stopping by My TTT
