Anna Dressed in Blood and Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
are two of my most favorite ghost stories. These two books are the first that
come to mind when recommending a Halloween read!

Ten by Gretchen McNeil is intense and full of suspense and the perfect book
to read to get you in the mood for Halloween!!

Let's not forget about Zombies, which is exactly what you get when you read
This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers!! This book was intense!!

I read A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis just a few weeks ago,
and I loved how creepy the story was! It definitely put me in the Halloween spirit!!

It's been a while since I read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, but I remember it being
very unique and different. Very spooky and great for this time of year!

This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzi Lee is a Frankenstein retelling that I absolutely LOVED!!
Again, I read this a few weeks ago, and it's another book that was total perfection
to read at Halloween time!! This book was SO good by the way. Check it out!

The Accident Season by Moïra Fowley-Doyle is actually set during Halloween time,
so again, a perfect book to read for Halloween! Lots of creepiness as well!

I've not yet read A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness &
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
but I imagine these would be perfectly scary read for Halloween!
I had hoped to squeeze this in for Halloween Reads week this month,
but unfortunately I've been too busy. :(

There you have it, Bookworms! Just a few of my favorite Halloween Reads!

  1. Nice!!! TEN made my list too! I still need to read This Monstrous Thing!!! The Anna books seemed to have slipped my mind, but I'm sure I've used those last year! LOL!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower :)

  2. I *really* have been wanting to read Mrs. Peregrine's for a while, so I feel like I should probably get on that. I just got a Madness So Discreet as well, which I am really looking forward to! Great list :)
    Here's my ttt!

  3. Wonderful list, you gave me lots of new books to look up :)
I do have a question about one of those books: I started reading Accident season and got about 30 pages into it but it just was boring to me. Does it get better? Or does the book keep the same tone? Because then it is just not for me, which is fine.

  4. I do want to read The Accident Season and Miss Peregrine - though scary books aren't usually my thing... My TTT

  5. Great list! I just started reading A Madness so Discreet. My book group is planning to read Frankenstein next year for Halloween and maybe pair it with a retelling so I'll have to suggest This Monstrous Thing. Thanks for the recommendations!

  6. A lot of these are on my TBR list! Though, I am not a huge fan of scary, these seem like they might be worth it!

Also, totally unrelated to the post, but I totally love your blog! It is super cute :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)
