Lara Jean is having the best senior year. And there’s still so much to look forward to: a class trip to New York City, prom with her boyfriend Peter, Beach Week after graduation, and her dad’s wedding to Ms. Rothschild. Then she’ll be off to college with Peter, at a school close enough for her to come home and bake chocolate chip cookies on the weekends.

Life couldn’t be more perfect!

At least, that’s what Lara Jean thinks…until she gets some unexpected news.

Now the girl who dreads change must rethink all her plans—but when your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to? (Goodreads)

My Thoughts...

One of my most anticipated reads for 2017 was Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han. I purchased the book as soon as it was released in May, but unfortunately had to keep pushing it back on my reading list. Then I discovered that my library finally had the audiobook for it, and I just HAD to listen to it right away. I'm so glad that I did! This book is definitely one of my favorite reads of the year.

As I'm sure I've mentioned in my review for the previous books, but I must say it again... I absolutely adore the characters in this book. Actually, Lara Jean is one of my most favorite characters ever, and I've really loved reading her story over the past few years. She has a really awesome family as well, and I especially love the bond between her and her sisters. I should also add that she has a pretty sweet boyfriend as well. I love all of these characters so much!

I think may have subconsciously put off reading this book because I really didn't want Lara's story to end. But I'm so glad that I did finally read it, as I feel like the whole story wrapped up very nicely. As I mentioned above, I have a hard copy of this book, but I decided to listen to the audiobook for it instead. I listened to the audiobooks for the first two books earlier this year when I re-read the series, so I knew I would enjoy this one as well. And I did. The narrator, Laura Knight Keating, does an awesome job with the voices for each character, and it was easy to get swept into the story as she read it to me. (She's narrated for all of the audiobooks in this series, and they are awesome to listen to!)

Overall; I've said it once, and I'll say it again... Always and Forever, Lara Jean was such a great read! It is definitely a favorite of 2017. If you're a fan of sweet contemporary stories, I highly recommend you pick up this series and meet Lara Jean for yourself, and I hope you love it just as much as I do!

Lara Jean’s letter-writing days aren’t over in this surprise follow-up to the New York Times bestselling To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You.

Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding.

But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind.

When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to? (Goodreads)

Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.
She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever.
When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Times bestseller To All the Boys I've Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean. Love is never easy, but maybe that’s part of what makes it so amazing. (Goodreads)
**If you’ve not read To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before or P.S. I Still Love You, please read this at your own risk. I’ll not intentionally add spoilers, but there is information from the first book included, and a little from the second book as well. You’ve been warned!

I absolutely couldn’t wait to get my hands on P.S. I Still Love You. I was a little late to the bandwagon about reading To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, I actually just read the book a few months ago, but after the ending the book, I couldn’t’ wait to get my hands on the sequel to see what was going to happen next for Lara Jean and Peter.

It has been so interesting to watch Lara Jean grow as a character in these two books. She was already a pretty awesome girl to begin with, but she’s grown even more in confidence and determination. She’s such a fun character. She also has an awesome family that I want to be a part of; her father is amazing and I want her sisters to be my sisters, especially Kitty. I imagine life would never be boring around Kitty. I LOVE when characters have really great families.

I loved Peter in the first book, and I love him still in the sequel. However, he does do some things throughout the novel that really frustrated me. The back and forth between he and Lara Jean was a bit exhausting at times. But just when I was fixing to give up on the two of them, Peter reminds me why I grew to love him so much to begin with. Sigh.

As promised, we meet with the boy from Lara Jeans past in the story as well, a boy who was another recipient of one of Lara Jeans famous letters. He actually played a bigger part in the story than I expected, and I’m going to be honest with you, I kind of fell in love with him a bit as the story went along. He was very sweet and thoughtful, and I enjoyed the interactions we had with him throughout the book.

The storyline for the book is much the same as the first book. There’s a lot more drama for Peter and Lara Jean, and while I enjoyed the story, some parts of it was a little frustrating and repetitive. The storyline also touches bases on important things that teens face in life, with sex, bullying, and double standards between boys and girls being a few. The ending of the book came together rather nicely, but I found myself wishing for SO much more. An epilogue or something would have been nice, as like what was in her previous series. Or I could even go for a third book in the series. I don’t think I could ever get tired of these characters.

Overall; I really enjoyed P.S. I Still Love You. It was a great sequel to what is now one of my most favorite contemporaries. I do have to admit that I enjoyed the first book more, but I still really enjoyed this one. While I would love to see more books in this series, I’m pretty happy with the way things came together in the end. I can’t wait to see what Han has in store for us next!

Lara Jean keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her.

They aren't love letters that anyone else wrote for her, these are ones she's written. One for every boy she's ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she can pour out her heart and soul and say all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly Lara Jean's love life goes from imaginary to out of control.
(Goodreads)
So, after feeling like I’m the last person on Earth that hasn’t read To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, I decided that I must finally read the book to see what all the fuss was about. Now that I’ve read it, I totally see what the fuss is about, and it has left me wanting MORE!

Lara Jean was an interesting main character. When we first meet her, she’s a bit reserved; preferring to stay at home with her family over doing just about anything else. (I totally find this relatable, by the way.) She’s the middle sister of the family, the good girl, always doing things to make others happy, and doing her best to follow in her big sisters footsteps. And when her sister leaves for college, Lara Jean has some pretty big shoes to fill. It was interesting to what her grow and change and become much more responsible and independent throughout the novel.

When Lara Jean writes love letters to all the boys she’s loved before, she writes them for herself only, as a form of closure; a way to move on. She doesn’t ever expect anyone to see these letters, especially the boys they are addressed to. So when she discovers that they have somehow been mailed, things become awkward to Lara Jean really fast. But I kind of love the boy’s reactions to the letters, especially Peters.

At first, I was really unsure about Peter, but as the story went along, I found myself liking him more and more. While I do wish that he could have done a few things differently regarding Lara Jean, I really enjoyed watching the relationship grow between these two, especially as he pulled her out of her shell. It was super sweet, and I’m in definite need of more Peter time.

It’s been a really, really long time since I’ve read a book that I absolutely could not put down. At the end of each chapter, I would promise myself that it would be the last one, that I would put the book down and go to bed, and instead I ended up staying up ALL night finishing the book. Seriously, I rarely ever let myself do that anymore, but I just could not stop reading this book. And now that it’s over, I’m eagerly awaiting the next book, P.S. I Still Love You.

Overall; if you’ve not read To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before yet, I highly recommend that you get a copy and give it a read. The story and the characters were beautiful and amazing and all kinds of wonderful. I will be anxiously waiting for May 26th to arrive, so that I can finally have P.S. I Still Love You in my hands. I can’t wait to get back to this story and see what will happen with these characters!

HURRY MAY!!
