Jane has lived an ordinary life, raised by her aunt Magnolia—an adjunct professor and deep sea photographer. Jane counted on Magnolia to make the world feel expansive and to turn life into an adventure. But Aunt Magnolia was lost a few months ago in Antarctica on one of her expeditions.

Now, with no direction, a year out of high school, and obsessed with making umbrellas that look like her own dreams (but mostly just mourning her aunt), she is easily swept away by Kiran Thrash—a glamorous, capricious acquaintance who shows up and asks Jane to accompany her to a gala at her family's island mansion called Tu Reviens.

Jane remembers her aunt telling her: "If anyone ever invites to you to Tu Reviens, promise me that you'll go." With nothing but a trunkful of umbrella parts to her name, Jane ventures out to the Thrash estate. Then her story takes a turn, or rather, five turns. What Jane doesn't know is that Tu Reviens will offer her choices that can ultimately determine the course of her untethered life. But at Tu Reviens, every choice comes with a reward, or a price. My Thoughts...

Jane, Unlimited is much anticipated, long awaited new release by Kristin Cashore, and boy was it worth the wait! I read Kristin's first book, Graceling, in the Graceling Realms series many, many years ago, and really enjoyed the book. I haven't had a chance to finish that series, (even though I own all the books), but I was super excited to read something new by her. Jane, Unlimited was definitely an interesting read!

This book was full of so many interesting and mysterious characters, including the main character, Jane, who seems to be the most ordinary person in the bunch. It was interesting to follow Jane through the story, and I seriously love her obsession with umbrella making. I like that the secondary characters were peculiar and mysterious, and that I never knew what to expect next from them.

The storyline for the book was a little interesting. I didn't really catch on to the format of the book at first, and when I started a new 'section' of the book, I wondered why it seemed to be the same story, just told differently. (I'm not sure if I'm explaining this very well.) Basically this book is like a 'choose your own ending' book. We get the first half of the story in the beginning, then throughout the book, we get 'alternate' endings, and you can basically choose which you like the best. I don't think I've ever read a book like that before, and it was definitely interesting. Reminded me a bit of the movie Clue!

Overall; Jane, Unlimited was an interesting and unique read by the super talented Kristin Cashore! It was well worth the wait, and having read the book, I now want to make the time to finally finish Kristin's Graceling Realms series, which I'm hoping that I can get to soon!

It's the accident season, the same time every year. Bones break, skin tears, bruises bloom.

The accident season has been part of seventeen-year-old Cara's life for as long as she can remember. Towards the end of October, foreshadowed by the deaths of many relatives before them, Cara's family becomes inexplicably accident-prone. They banish knives to locked drawers, cover sharp table edges with padding, switch off electrical items - but injuries follow wherever they go, and the accident season becomes an ever-growing obsession and fear.

But why are they so cursed? And how can they break free? (Goodreads)
The first thing that drew me to The Accident Season by Moïra Fowley-Doyle was the absolutely gorgeous cover. It's really irresistible. Then I started reading the book, and I completely fell in love with the story and characters. I didn't know what to expect from the book in the beginning, but by the end, I was absolutely hooked.

Every October, Cara's and her family become victims of The Accident Season, the one month out of the year where no matter how overcautious they are, accidents always seem to happen. These were not just your average accidents either, but very painful ones. But why these accidents continue to happen is a mystery. Or is it?

I really liked the four main characters in the story. The sisters, Cara and Alice, their ex-stepbrother, Sam, and their best friend, Bea, were all so well written, and all so very different and unique. You couldn't help but love them all, even when, at times, you're completely shaking your head at them at the same time. There were also some really interesting secondary characters in the story as well; some that you will like, and some, not so much.

The storyline for the book was really creative and mysterious and completely addicting. While there's an almost mystical feel to the book, there are also real life issues in it, some that are very relatable, and some that are troubling. I love that while you think the story is going one way, it is also going in a completely different direction as well. The storyline and characters blend together in a great way to make this a really interesting read.

Overall; I really enjoyed The Accident Season. I have to admit, I'm a sucker for a book with a pretty cover, and unfortunately, not all pretty books are good books. That's totally not the case with The Accident Season. I really enjoyed it, and I can't wait to read more by Moïra Fowley-Doyle in the future!!
