I have to admit, it has been way too long since I've read a new book by Katie McGarry, (even though I currently have THREE of her books sitting unread on my shelf), but I just couldn’t resist reading her newest book, Say You'll Remember Me, the moment it landed in my mailbox. I've read Katie’s Pushing the Limits series a few years back, as well as the first book in the Thunder Road series, all of which I loved, so I knew this one would be great as well. And it was!!

Can I start off by saying that I’m a sucker for a good contemporary novel? It’s my favorite genre, and one of the reasons why I’m such a big fan of Katie’s books. Don’t get me wrong, I love almost all genres of books, but there’s just something about a good contemporary that always gets me, especially when it’s a love story. (I love those stories the most!) I expected this book to have the typical bad-boy-turned-good storyline, but there was really so much more to it than that. I appreciate how relatable it was, and a lot of things in the story, unfortunately, are actually happening in the real world right now. It was very realistic.

Another thing I really like about the story was the characters. Elle was a bit of a pushover in the beginning of the story, but I enjoyed watching her character grow into a much more confident person over the course of the book. It was, however, Drix that completely stole the story. Convicted for a crime that he didn’t commit, serving time and having that on his record, and having no one believe him… that was heartbreaking. And worse is, this actually happens. I don’t want to give too much of the story away, so read if for yourself to learn Drix and Elle’s story. It’s really sweet, and impactful as well.

Overall; I really enjoyed reading Say You'll Remember Me, and I'm so glad to have finally read something new by Katie. Now I need to finish the Thunder Road series soon, which, of course, will start with a re-read of Nowhere But Here, and I may just have to re-read the Pushing the Limits series as well, just because I love that series so much. *wink* If you're a fan of contemporary novels, or just of Katie's novels in general, do check out Say You'll Remember Me! I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.

How can I even begin to tell you how super excited to was for Katie McGarry’s Nowhere But Here?? I absolutely adore her Pushing the Limits series, and I was super excited to see what she was going to do with this Thunder Road series. When a book contains hot guys and motorcycles, you can definitely count me in for reading it. I’m super thrilled to say that Nowhere But Here definitely did not disappoint.

The story is told from alternate viewpoints between Emily and Oz. I know I’ve said this many times before in my reviews, but I absolutely adore when stories are told this way, as the viewpoints give us SO much more information. As you read the story, you just can’t help but sympathize with Emily for all that she’s been through. She finds out that her whole life is basically a lie and no one will tell her the truth about it. This was SO super frustrating for me, but Emily handled it so much better than I would have, and I couldn’t help but admire her for that.


I am more than a little in love with Oz. While he did a few things in the beginning of the book that made me want to smack him, I fell more and more in love with him the more I turned the pages. The romance between these two characters is definitely not insta-love. These two characters clashed from the moment they met, and while the attraction was definitely there, they resisted for as long as they could. But once they started to get to know each other, there was no more fighting it. There were some really sweet moments between the two throughout the story, and the sexy-times are super swoon-worthy.

There are some really awesome secondary characters in the book as well; some that we get to know and love pretty well, like Emily’s biological father, Eli, and her grandmother, Olivia, and then there are some characters that we meet briefly, but who make a huge impression, and I can’t wait to read more of their stories in the next books.

The storyline for the book was completely consuming. I knew I was going to love the book because I have a thing for bad boys on motorcycles, but I didn’t expect the book to be so well detailed. McGarry definitely put a lot of thought and research into this book, and I definitely appreciate that. I was completely hooked on the story, and while it came to a close nicely, no cliffhanger-ending at all, it still left me wishing that I had the next book(s) in my hands already.

Overall; Nowhere But Here is an excellent beginning to what should prove to be another awesome series by Katie McGarry. I’m going to be impatiently waiting to get my hands on the next book in the series and books 3 & 4 as well! If you like Katie’s Pushing the Limits series, I know you’re going to love the Thunder Road series. If you’ve not checked out any of her books, I highly recommend that you do so! They are super great.

I was super excited to hear that Take Me On was going to be the fourth book in the ‘Pushing the Limits’ series.  I’ve loved Katie McGarry’s writing style every since I first started the series, and I absolutely could not wait to read West and Haley’s story. Now that I’ve finished the book, I can honestly say that if you’ve enjoyed the series so far, you’re definitely going to love this wonderful addition!

Haley is a titled champion kickboxer who vowed to never step in the ring again after a tragic night that changed her world forever. But when the guy she saves late one cold night accepts a fight in her honor, she once again finds herself back in the ring. Training West shouldn’t be too hard, he’s got raw talent and he knows how to use it, but he’s definitely not someone that Haley wants to get involved with. When a bond starts to form between the two, Haley and West must overcome their fears and family issues, and discover that love is a risk worth taking.

Haley is a really awesome character. Life has not been very kind to her and her family, but they struggle through and make the best of what they have to deal with. She’s definitely not shrinking violet, but is instead a trained fighter, who can even take down an experience fighter when she has to. But some things in the past have changed her, and she has had a hard time overcoming the fears that haunt her.  Even so, she’s still a strong character that loves her family and will do whatever she has to do to keep them together. I love her determination and strength; it was really admirable considering all that she has gone through.

When we first met West in Crash Into You, I honestly didn’t think much of him. As I read Take Me On and get to know him better and the reasons why he did some of the things that he did in the past, things start making more sense regarding him. I love his stubbornness and his protectiveness over Haley. I love that while he was considered a ‘playboy’, he was completely faithful to her. I always love that in a bad boy. These two characters are so well written and so complex, you can’t help but to love them.

The book is told through both West and Haley’s point of view. I really love books that are written this way, as we get to climb inside both characters heads and see exactly what’s going on with them and how they feel. West and Haley were made for each other. Both were stubborn and determined. They made such a great pair.

I fully expected to take my time and read this book slowly to savor each little bit of the story, and at 544 pages, I totally could have dragged it out to be a long and enjoyable read. But once I started reading the story, I absolutely couldn’t stop. I read the bulk of the book in just a day’s time. I can’t help it, I was totally hooked! The storyline for the book was really touching. The struggles that both characters had to face made them such stronger people, and I really felt bad for both of their situations. But they are fighters, both in the physical and emotional sense, and I think that together they could overcome just about anything.

I also want to mention that I love that in McGarry always includes includes some characters from her previous books. In this book we get to see Rachel, Isaiah and, of course, Abbey, who I absolutely love and who I hope gets her own story in the future. It’s great to see these characters that I love once again. Isaiah is one of my most favorite bad boys ever. I would read just about anything with him in it. *wink*

Overall; If you haven’t read this series before, I definitely recommend that you do so. Take Me On is an excellent addition to the Pushing the Limit’s series. I can’t wait to see if there are more stories in this series in the future. I am totally hoping that there will be!

I have really enjoyed reading ALL of the books in the Pushing the Limit’s series, but I have to say, Crash Into You is my most favorite of the three books! I seriously could not wait to get my hands on this book so I could dive into Isaiah’s story. The book definitely does not disappoint!

I have been intrigued by Isaiah since we first met him in Pushing the Limits. I wanted to know more of him, and my wish was granted when reading Crash Into You. He is such an awesome bad boy, but underneath the attitude, tattoos and all around bad boy exterior, he’s a really sweet, caring guy. He is the absolutely perfect for Rachel. I love that instead of being frustrated with her and her issues, he helps her in any way that he can. I love that he calls her Angel. While they had a few issues in the book, they pretty much had a really swoon-worthy relationship, and I really enjoyed reading their story. Isaiah has definitely earned a spot as one of my most favorite male characters!

There are so many secondary characters in this book, I wouldn’t even know where to begin with them. I love that we get to see a lot of our favorite characters from the two previous books; I honestly didn’t expect to see as much of them as we did. I really, really enjoyed them being a part of this story. Then there are the new characters that we meet in this book. Rachel had a very interesting family, especially with having four brothers. I can’t say that I cared for her dad very much.

The storyline for the book was really intriguing and definitely kept me hooked while I was reading. I really enjoyed the car talk! There are lots of sweet and steamy moments throughout the novel, and there is a pretty shocking scene towards the end of the book, but I love that it was included. It just made me love Rachel and Isaiah even more. Such a great story!

Overall; if you are a fan of young adult contemporary books with tattooed bad boys as the main character, you’re definitely going to love this book! The whole series is amazing, and I definitely recommend you starting it, if you haven’t already.
