Chronicling the rise of the Keepers, this is the stunning prequel to Andrea Cremer's internationally bestselling Nightshade trilogy!
Sixteen-year-old Ember Morrow is promised to a group called Conatus after one of their healers saves her mother's life. Once she arrives, Ember finds joy in wielding swords, learning magic, and fighting the encroaching darkness loose in the world. She also finds herself falling in love with her mentor, the dashing, brooding, and powerful Barrow Hess. When the knights realize Eira, one of their leaders, is dabbling in dark magic, Ember and Barrow must choose whether to follow Eira into the nether realm or to pledge their lives to destroying her and her kind.
With action, adventure, magic, and tantalizing sensuality, this book is as fast-paced and breathtaking as the Nightshade novels. (Goodreads)
I have only read the first book in the Nightshade series, but I loved it. (One day, I will actually get caught up enough to read the rest of the series. lol!) I was really excited to see that there will be a prequel series. I can't wait to check all of these books out, and hopefully soon!

I read Nightshade and didn't entirely enjoy it, but looking at the covers makes me want to pick them all up and squeeze them forever because they're that gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI hope Rift is as kick ass as it looks.
My WOW
Ugh, just remember I still have to read Nightshade! xD I've seen this cover and thrilled too, but of course I have to read Nightshade first. I think the cover is better than the rest books, I mean the ones with black background.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick this week!

Rift does sound awesome. I liked the Nightshade series....up until the last book which made me angry. :(
ReplyDeleteI like this author's world building, so hopefully this one wins me over again. Great choice.

ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about this one-I think Cremer does a great job with history and world-building so this series should satisfy me in that regard.
ReplyDeleteOne day I will actually get caught up on this series too Christy! I'm with you and only have read Nightshade:) Maybe that works out well though since this is a prequel?
ReplyDeleteGreat pick :) !! I really liked both Nightshade and Wolfsbane so I very much look forward to read this one too :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pick! I loved the first book of the Nightshade series more than the other two, but I'm still looking forward this prequel series :-)
ReplyDeleteI need to read the last in this series...and now it seems I need to read the pre-first, too! Loved her writing and this one sounds great.
ReplyDeleteI had the opportunity to meet Andrea when she was here earlier this year and I really adored her personality and her stories. I need to start reading the Nightshade series. Rift looks/sounds amazing! Great pick :-)
