Week in Review • Week 12

Ahhh, Spring Break is officially over.
:(
Now it's back to super early mornings, and busy, busy days. Sigh.
However, with the kids back to school, I may actually get some reading done.
HAHA!

Here's what I've been up to this week...

This week I managed to finish three books. The first was Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton, which I'd been working my way through for the past two weeks, and finally finished. Boy, that was a good book. I can't wait to get my hands on book #3!

I also read Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves, which was really interesting, and I'm hoping to share my thoughts about the book on the blog this week.

I also started my very own Sarah Dessen Readathon this week. Since her newest book, Once and For All is due to release at the beginning of June, I've challenged myself to read ALL her books before then. (Because, you know, I don't already have a massive TBR at the moment. Let's just throw in a challenge while we're at it. HAHA!) I've read a good chunk of Sarah's books, but I'm excited to read them all again, AND to finally read the ones I haven't read yet as well.

This was my first time reading That Summer, and I really enjoyed it. It was so different than what I expected. I can't wait to start the next book on my list, Someone Like You, which is another book I've not yet read by Sarah. Yay!

I managed to squeeze in two movies this week, both of which I really enjoyed. We finally made it to the theater to see Beauty and the Beast, and I enjoyed it so much more than I expected to. Emma Watson was SO good in this movie. I can't wait to see it again soon, hopefully, and to own it once it's released as well! It will be a much welcome addition to my collection. :)

I also watched Bend it Like Beckham with my dearest Kathy from A Glass of Wine.
I'd never seen this movie before, and I was thrilled when Kathy suggested we watch it.
I really, really enjoyed it as well!

I'm really surprised at how much I managed to get done this week with the kids home.
The next few weeks are going to be super busy around here, and Summer Break is right around the corner as well. I'll be busting my hump trying to get everything done.
But such is life, right?! Haha!

That's all for me this week, so...

  1. I'm glad you had a nice spring break. I can't wait to follow along for your Dessen Readathon. I absolutely love her books. I have read all, but two! I'm glad you enjoyed That Summer. It isn't my favorite of her books, but still a good read. Her books are perfect for spring break/summertime. I hope you had a nice weekend!

  2. Your bookstagram is BEAUTIFUL. I just finished The Sun is Also a Star - it was great!

I've been putting off going to see Beauty and the Beast because I was worried Emma Watson wouldn't live up to my expectations, but everyone seems to be loving her in it.
