Imagine living in a world where Love is a disease called Deliria. Imagine having a procedure that will cure before the Deliria take control of you. Imagine not being able to love, at all. That is the world that Lauren Oliver has created in her fascinating book, Delirium.

In the beginning of the book we meet Lena, who is a very headstrong young lady. Life definitely has not been easy for Lena. She has believed all her life that love is something to be terrified of, and that it can kill you if you are not cured. I found Lena to be a very strong character, and I loved that she stuck to her beliefs for so long. Even when she starts to see things differently, she still clings to that belief. I love a character that doesn’t give in just after a little persuasion. Of course, things start to change once she meet’s and eventually falls in love with Alex.

Oh Alex... I have to say, I love, love, love Alex. His character is one that I have thought about long after finishing the book. He definitely stands out to me for some reason, and I seriously cannot stop thinking about him. I adore him, and his relationship with Lena. I love how he shows Lena the truth of how things really are. They are seriously perfect together.

Delirium is a very well paced book. While I wanted to get through it as quickly as possible just to see what was going to happen next, I also wanted to savor every single bit of it. The plot is very creative, and it definitely makes you think. I cannot imagine living in a world where you cannot feel love. That would be just horrible.

Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite reads, and I can’t believe I waited so long to read it! Lauren Oliver is an amazing author, and I can’t wait to read more from her!

Can I say that I'm ecstatic to have gotten FALLEN IN LOVE?! I've been itching to get that book, and I can't wait to get started on it! I love Alyxandra Harvey, and I'm really looking forward to reading Stolen Away too!

Super excited to have gotten Slide as well! I saw it on Netgalley a while back, but didn't request it. It sounds amazing, and I can't wait to get started on it! As you can see, I got two copies of the book... Guess what I will be giving away soon?!

The rest of the books I picked up at the bookstore. Some I had, but didn't have finished copies of. The Frost books sound awesome, I saw them on someones blog earlier this week, so I snatched those up as well. :)

Reading Resolutions: What are some of your reading goals for the new year?

One of my main reading goals is to work on a lot of the books that have sequels coming out this year. SO many books to read!  I also want to read the books I own!

I'm still deciding if I want to do a reading challenge this year. I did one last year, and the year before, and found it to be a little stressful. I was so worried about meeting my goal, that I feel like I didn't get to enjoy all the books I read.  I'm still trying to decide if I want to do one this year or not.

Cinder is a unique, futuristic take on the classic fairytale that we all know and loved; Cinderella. However, the original fairytale does not hold a candle to this brilliant novel.

The characters in the story were really creative, and each in their own way. The main character in the story is Cinder, who is a brilliantly gifted mechanic, who can fix just about anything. Oh, and also, she’s a cyborg as well. She lives in an apartment with her two stepsisters, and her stepmother. Cinder is a very strong character that never backs down or gives in. I love Cinder! The prince in the story is named Kai. I enjoyed his character as well, but at times, I really wanted to ring his neck! The secondary characters were well written as well, especially the evil characters. (There were quite a few evil characters, and trust me, you will love to hate them.)

While a lot of the story is similar to the classic fairytale, it also has its own very creative plot blended in. (I’m trying really hard not to give anything away!) Yes, there is a bit of predictability, but there’s still enough added onto the story to keep readers very interested. The plot was very well paced, and I found this to be a very quick read. The ending is definitely a cliffhanger, and will leave you itching to get your hands on the next books. Luckily, this book is the first in a four book series, so we are definitely going to be in for some great reading.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book, and gobbled it up in one day. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the books in the series!

Can you believe it's a brand new year??
2011 was great! I hope 2012 will be full of awesomeness...

I have quite a few Resolutions for this year...
A lot of them are the basics...

Eat Better, Exercise, Lose Weight...
Read more, Blog more, Tweet More...
Be less introverted... etc...

But also....

I want to surround myself with tons and tons of books!
I <3 books.   I <3 to read...

I want to FINALLY pick out some bookshelves
and start working on my home-library...

I want to take more pictures...
I used to take pictures ALL the time...
(Seriously... obsessed-much...)
I really want to get back into it....
It makes me sad to see my camera sitting on the shelf...

I want to be happy.... always....
There are so many changes I need to make...
Starting with myself... to be happy...
Life is too short to waste on being unhappy...
