Friday Hops - 2/2/12

Follow Friday! #45

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends!

Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kickass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

A. I don't really like I have a particular characteristic that I prefer... I like strong heroines that aren't whiny and can stick up for themselves. I love bad boys that are mysterious.  (NOAH SHAW). But I also love characters that are fun and easy to read.

TGIF at GReads #13

TGIF at GReads is a Friday Feature hosted by Ginger at GReadsBooks.com!

Book Appeal: When you're browsing goodreads, the library, or another blogger's reviews, what grabs your attention to make you want to read it?

To be honest... the first thing I always go for is the cover. I Know, I know I shouldn't do this, but I love covers! Especially covers that are gorgeous. :)

Thanks for stopping by everyone! Please leave a comment with your link so I can follow you back!

  3. Noah Shaw was exactly who I was thinking of when I was trying to describe my ideal guy in a book. Bad boys are just so right!

  4. I can agree with you. I don't think I ever really stopped to think about what I like in a book, I either like it or I don't. But now with this question, I can definitely see characteristics I like. Like a strong heroine, a sexy funny and supportive guy. Love you answer. I'm a new follower.

  5. Wow, your blog is very cute! I'm a new follower :D
And I agree with both your answers. I also like fun to read characters although they may or may be not the reason why a book is my favorite. I also first notice the cover. Sorry, but I love how pretty some of them are! Then I read the summary, of course :)

  6. Yeaaaaaaah for Noah Shaw - I mean who doesn't love him??!?!?! I also had some troubles answering this question, I do enjoy lot of different things but, I agree with you a whiny heroine is something I also cannot enjoy!
    Happy Friday!

  7. I'm a cover person too! Don't want to say cover whore cause it sounds mean, but covers can definitely make or break a new read for me! Especially by new to me or just new authors! Yet I will always read the cover back to see if it's for me just the same!

    Here's my Friday Hops

  13. I'm a character-driven reader too. The plot could suck and as long as I can connect to the characters, then I'm pretty happy. :)

  15. Good answers. Ya gotta love non-whiny characters. I love covers, too. Although... I saw them differently on my last visit to the library 'cause so many look familiar, now... I saw different covers. Weird. My FF: Colorimetry

  16. I totally agree with you! Great answer it's the same thing for me. I agree for the cover thing too, it's difficult to read a book with a bad cover...

  22. Haha, we both mentioned Noah Shaw! <3

I love that a cover can get you to read the synopsis. I normally take a second look at a book because of the cover. It is what usually first draws you to it.

  23. I totally and utterly agree! I need a strong heroine who can hold her own and a good handsome bad boy to lust over throughout the span of the book! New follower!
