Q. Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?A. There have been some villains that I have loved to hate, but I don't think there are any that I would have ever wanted to win at the end of a story. I would have to think on this one!

Q. “Many of us primarily read one genre of books, with others sprinkled in. If authors stopped writing that genre, what genre would you start reading? Or would you give up reading completely if you couldn’t read that genre anymore?”
A. Right now I mostly read YA fiction. If authors ever stopped writing in that genre, (Heaven forbid!), I think I would probably pick up Urban Fantasy and Paranormal. I've always enjoyed this genre, even if I haven't read much.
Thanks for stopping by everyone! Please leave a comment with your link so I can follow you back!
New follower! People seem really loathe to root for the villain. Personally, I love villains. And love to hate them.

I'm such a sucker for a happy ending, I don't think I've ever wanted a villain to win. There are some anti-heros I root for, though, like Dexter. :)

Hi
ReplyDeleteI couldn't remember ever wanting a villain to win either!

I feel like I'm the only one who took the question as that if my genre--which is almost anything paranormal in some sense--were to disappear then I would give up reading NEW books. I would re-read my entire collection though since they would be collectables and some of the last paranormal reads.

Old Follower :)
Just the thought of authors NOT WRITING YA makes me go crazy. :D I hope that never happens. Otherwise I'd have to survive on chick lit novels. :( :D
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend,
Carina
I'm a pretty diverse reader, so I wouldn't have to pick a new genre. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I would have to go into mourning if YA authors stopped writing!! I wouldnt give up reading though, I would probably read more paranormal and chick lit! And off the top of my head I can't think of a time I have wanted a villain to win...
ReplyDeleteHere is my blog, feel free to stop by! :)

Great answers, Christy!
ReplyDeleteI can't really think of a time when I wanted the bad dude to win?
If YA authors stopped writing, I'd weep! But I'd read more suspense/mystery with a dash of Scottish Highlander Hunks in between!
I love to hate a lot of villains too. I love the complexity of their character and the dynamic they bring to the story. But, I'd never want them to win in the end. I'm love my HEAs too much.
ReplyDeleteI could not think of any villain I would root for. Tough question this week. lol My FF can found at Gimme The Scoop Reviews Have an awesome weekend!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many different things to read even if new books in a favorite genre stopped being published. Please come see what I would read.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like urban fantasy or steampunk. Great choices. Love the blog!

I chose YA as my pick too. As long as there are YA book of any kind I am happy!
