Top Ten Tuesday: All About Books Recommended to Me

October 11:  All About Books Recommended to Me
(From fellow friends, bloggers, reviews etc.)

My TBR schedule is usually made up of review books,
and I rarely seem to have time to read other books.
Here's a list of books I've read due to recommendations,
or because of reviews I've read or things I've heard about the book!

1. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson - This book was recommended to me by a really awesome publicist, and I loved it so much!! Just the beginning to one of my most favorite series ever. :)

2. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare - This book was recommended to me by a friend waaaaaay back when. It was one of the first books I read that got me into reading YA books, and I'm SO glad I read it!

3. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling - Unfortunately, I didn't read these books when they first came out. (I SOOOOO wish I would have.) And I honestly never really thought about them until I entered the book blogging world. When I discovered everyone's love for the books, I knew I just HAD to read them. I'm still working on reading/finishing the series, but I love all that I've read so far!

4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - Another series that I picked up right when I started blogging because of recommendations by others. Mockingjay was just fixing to release when I discovered this series, and I read so many reviews that this was a series I MUST READ.So glad I did. Awesome series.

5. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes - When it was my turn to pick a book for my book club read one month, my dear friend Kathy suggested I pick Me Before You. I had seen a lot about the book, but hadn't read it yet, and I'm SO glad she suggested it to me. It's definitely a fave of mine.

6. The Martian by Andy Weir - I really wasn't sure about this book, it's not really the kind I read, but I was at first interested because of the movie, then I started seeing all the things that people were saying about it, and I HAD to read it. I really enjoyed the book, and it kind of drives me crazy that I still don't have a copy of my own!

7. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins - I read this book late last year, right when the details of the movie started coming out, and everyone was talking about it online. I still need to see the movie, and I'm hoping that I can get to that this week!

8. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - Another book recommended to me by my lovely friend Kathy! I read the book before the movie came out, and I wasn't sure what to expect when I started it, but oh my, what a wild ride!

9. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson - Yes, another Kathy recommendation! I had never read a Morgan Matson book before, then Kathy sent me a review copy of this book, and I FELL IN LOVE. Now Morgan is one of my most favorite authors. I love her books!

10. The Fault in our Stars by John Green - This book was recommended to me by fellow bookworm Petra, who also sent me a copy of the book to read as well! I hadn't heard of John Green before that time, but this book definitely made me a fan!

Those are just a few of my favorite books that have been recommended to me in the past. I have SO many more I still need to read. SOON!

  1. The main reason I read books like HP and The Hunger Games was not so much recommendation but more so the hype. Sometimes the hype is real though which is great. The Kiss of Deception is still one I really need to get to and has been sitting on my shelf forever! Great post :)

  3. I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only book blogger that hasn't read the entire Harry Potter series yet! I just read the first book earlier this year, but have been so swamped that I haven't gotten around to finishing the rest of the series!

The Kiss of Deception is still on my list to read!
