A second chance doesn't guarantee a touchdown in this new contemporary romance from the author of Intercepted.

Single-mother Poppy Patterson moved across the country when she was sixteen and pregnant to find a new normal. After years of hard work, she's built a life she loves. It may include a job at a nightclub, weekend soccer games, and more stretch marks than she anticipated, but it's all hers, and nobody can take that away. Well, except for one person.

TK Moore, the starting wide receiver for the Denver Mustangs, dreamt his entire life about being in the NFL. His world is football, parties, and women. Maybe at one point he thought his future would play out with his high school sweetheart by his side, but Poppy is long gone and he's moved on.

When Poppy and TK cross paths in the most unlikely of places, emotions they've suppressed for years come rushing back. But with all the secrets they never told each other lying between them, they'll need more than a dating playbook to help them navigate their relationship. (Goodreads)

When a review copy of Fumbled, the second book in the Playbook series by Alexa Martin, arrived on my doorstep, (provided courtesy of Berkley Romance), I was super excited to check out the book. I have had Intercepted, the first book in the series, on my TBR for the longest, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to binge-read the books. So that is exactly what I did!

As I mentioned above, Intercepted and Fumbled are the first two books in the Playbook series by Alexa Martin, these stories are all about football. I'm not much of a sports fan, even though I did use to watch football religiously, but while the book is set around the sport, it is definitely not the main focus, which I found to be enjoyable. And while the books are set around the same sports team, each book has a different set of main characters, which I also enjoyed.

Fumbled, (as well as Intercepted), was a really quick read, and I enjoyed both the cute and fun (and sometimes drama filled) storylines, as well as the important messages that were in the book, including some of the dangers that come along with the sport, as well as the treatment that women have to deal with on a daily basis. This book really has it all, including really awesome characters, and a super sweet, (also STEAMY), romance as well.

Overall; though I am not a huge fan of sports books, I did really enjoy both Intercepted and Fumbled! I flew through these books in no time, and they definitely left me wanting more, so I will be patiently waiting the release of the next book in the series, Blitzed, which is currently set to release in December! I absolutely can't wait to check it out.
