In New York City, 1897, life has never been more thrilling - or dangerous.
Sixteen-year-old Finley Jayne and her "straynge band of mysfits" have journeyed from London to America to rescue their friend Jasper, hauled off by bounty hunters. But Jasper is in the clutches of a devious former friend demanding a trade-the dangerous device Jasper stole from him...for the life of the girl Jasper loves.
One false move from Jasper and the strange clockwork collar around Mei's neck tightens. And tightens. (Goodreads)
Why am I Waiting on this book???
I read The Girl in the Steel Corset earlier this year, and LOVED it! Finley is such a great main character, and I loved, loved, looooooved Griffin. I can't wait to get back into this story!

What an amazing cover. I want to read the first book in this series, I really liked the trailer for it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize this was a sequel. I like the premise of the ever-tightening collar! Cool choice. Is Finley the same character on both covers? I'm confused by the cover model being white on one and Asian on the other!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick! I still can't believe I haven't read The Girl in the Steel Corset. It has been sitting in my tbr pile for way too long. I will definitely have to read it before the sequel comes out now.

I have mixed feelings about The Girl in the Steel Corset...the cover is so beautiful but I'm not sure about getting into steampunk. I generally don't care for stories set in the 1800s. But I'm thinking I may have to try it anyway!

This book grabbed me from the title, I love it. I also like that there's actually a PoC on the cover. I haven't read The Girl With the Steel Corset yet but it looks really good. Fantastic pick.
ReplyDeleteMy WoW.

ReplyDeleteI haven't read The Girl in the steel corset yet. I will next year! It sounds very interesting :) :)
ReplyDeletePretty cover! I liked the first one but this outdid it. I only just read the first book, didn't realize the second was coming out so soon - there's a plus side to being a procrastinator. :)
ReplyDeleteMy Wow this week
So glad you liked the first one! I haven't got around to reading it yet, though! This one looks good as well but I really don't like the cover. :(
ReplyDeleteI didn't LOVE The Girl in the Steel Corset, mainly because of the pacing. But the characters are beckoning me to join them for seconds, and I'm intrigued by this Mei person. I'm hoping things will go more smoothly with this next one :)

I have heard so many great things about The Girl in the Steel Corset but I've yet to read it..
ReplyDeleteGreat pick ;)
Oh, hey! I had the same one! Loved the first story, and this companion sounds really intriguing, too.
