Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends!
Q: When you've read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)
A. I get about 75% of my books from the library, so after I read one, I have to give it back! lol! If it's one I really loved, then I definitely buy a copy for myself.
For the ARC's I receive, I usually either have a giveaway for them, or donate them to my daughters 6th grade reading teacher, who is always the most appreciative when I send in new books. :)
TGIF at GReads #8
TGIF at GReads is a Friday Feature hosted by Ginger at GReadsBooks.com!
Most Popular: What blog post has gotten the most comments/activity on your blog this year?
My most popular post for this year was my 500 Follower/Blogoversary Giveaway. :o) Lots of people commented on that one. LOL!
The second and third most popular were my Juliet Immortal and Mara Dyer Reviews/Giveaways. (Giveaways are really popular. LOL!)
Thanks for stopping by everyone! Please leave a comment with your link so I can follow you back!
Ahhh, I really need to utilize my library more! I'm so used to buying my books now because it's more convenient but a library would definitely be cheaper. I think it's so generous of you to donate to your daughter's school!
ReplyDeleteI followed you, by the way! Here is my post http://bit.ly/taKXgm
That is really nice of you to donate your books to your daughters teacher. =] New Follower. =]

I do like your way you probably have saved a bit of room by borrowing from the library, here's mine

That's awesome that you donate to your daughter's school. Hmm...maybe I'll check around in my area and see if anyone wants my extras. Surely someone will want them, right? Lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Giving away books is a nice feeling, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI did the TGIF for the first tiem today! :D My top hitter was Bring on The Bad Boys. ;D
New Follower! Come see my Friday too! :D And have an awesome weekend!
I get awfully a lot of my books from the library too. Sadly we have to return them. :D
ReplyDeleteSending you best wishes,
your new follower Aleksandra @ My Bookshelves.
Library is a great choice if you're in an English-speaking country. I envy you a little. :)
ReplyDeleteOld followers.
Here's our Follow Friday post
Maja @ The Nocturnal Library
I bow to your ability to not buy books lol. I haven't bought anywhere near as many books this year as I did last year (getting ARCs helps). I was using my library a lot early in the year but haven't been back in months. I must go back now! You would think as a person with a Masters in Library Science I would lol :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Patricia @ Patricia's Particularity
Yours must be a very well stocked library :D
ReplyDeleteAmy's Follow Friday
Hey there.
ReplyDeleteYeah, with most of your reads being from the library, I think it helps the parting process with the object itself. I admire that, since I'm sort of incapable of parting with the books :D I'm a hoarder, sort of proud of my hoarding habits actually. I look at it as putting together a book-treasure for my future kids (much nobler then just hoarding for my own seriously selfish and possessive reading pleasure, lol.)
New follower, though I think I've been following on Twitter for a while? I might be wrong though, so if I am disregard that last Twitter bit, lol.
Have a great weekend!
My #FF
I didn't want to choose one of my contest or hop posts because they got a lot of activity by default. I don't get a whole lot of visits or comments really everyday, but I did choose one of my more popular reviews!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday Hops
Have a GREAT weekend!
Old Follower :)
I love your blog, new follower! :)

I use the library a lot too, although probably not as high as 75% of what I read. There are quite a few books/series that my library doesn't carry. Bummer!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Follow Friday post
Giveaways are always my most popular posts as well. Go figure:) I need to utilize my local library a bit more, it's right up the street yet I've never been. Fail. Have a great weekend Christy!
ReplyDeleteI love donating to the library.

Haven't gotten an ARC (yet) but I'm looking forward to passing it on when I do.
ReplyDeleteI'm a library girl too.
New follower.
I think I'm the only one who never go to the library.

here is mince mine
I know at some point I'll have to donate some books. I have so many, but in the meantime I take them to my parents and put them in storage.
ReplyDeleteI tend to keep all of my books because I like them! I hardly give them away or sell them! Great feature! Thank you for sharing it!

CHECK OUT MY FF POST HERE
P.S. do check out this link - i need 5 bloggers who can host a MIDDLE GRADE FICTION
I frequent my library a lot too!
ReplyDeleteI really need to check the schools here and see if any would be willing to take in ARCs.
Everybody is right that it's really great of you to donate the books. I find it really hard to let go of any of my books and my husband complains that I have too many books. It's nice to find your blog. Liz
